Darry Dolezal: Music Director
Darry brings to us many experienced years of conducting, teaching, performance, and yes, tv/radio live broadcasts in addition to commercial recordings!
A Johns Hopkins Master of Music as well as University of Kansas ‘Performance of Highest Distinction’ and his studies with premier performance principals as famous as the American, Julliard, Budapest and Cleveland String Quartets, Darry offers us new skills in choral and orchestral performances. Our singers will experience an emphasis on blend, on overall phrasing, accurate pitch registers and full bodied choral sound.
Darry’s some 24 years of experience – from church choirs to music festivals, university teaching, National Endowment for the Arts grants, Bowdoin, Boston University, Florida State, Federal University –Brazil, and more than 2,000 (!) performance concerts – offers our Sippican group in-depth musical leadership!
Originally from Lawrence, Kansas, Darry now resides in Newton, MA with his wife, violinist Susan Jensen.
Michelle Gordon: Pianist is an Independent Piano Teacher and Choral Accompanist in Mattapoisett, MA. She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, through the Music Teacher's National Association. She is also the Organist, Bell Choir, and Jr. Choir Director at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. She accompanies the Center School, Old Hammondtown School, ORR JHS and ORR HS Choruses, as well as the Sippican Choral Society. She is a past-President and member of the Massachusetts Music Teacher's Association, and has been selected as the MMTA "Teacher of the Year" for 2009-2010. She is an annual presenter at both the MTNA National Conferences and the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and her articles can be read in "American Music Teacher" and "Keyboard Companion".
